Jane is a health informatics expert currently working as a lecturer at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), Uganda and as a postdoc at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, Germany. She holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), a master’s in computer science from Malmö University, Sweden and a PhD in computer science from Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. Her other research interests include mobile computing, ICT for development with a strong focus on low resource settings. She has been a co-investigator on two research projects (MatHealth and MobileMomCare), both of which were funded by the German ministry of education and research (BMBF). She is passionate about mentoring young girls and women into Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) courses and careers
